Campervanage in the Amsterdamse Bos and the Westeinderplassen

Tourist in own region

You can of course make a beautiful tour through Italy, Scandinavia or Croatia, but you can also enjoy it close to home. For example in the Amsterdamse Bos or around the Westeinderplassen in Aalsmeer, the undiscovered lake area of the Randstad. You will find numerous activities at both locations for a fun day out, whatever company you are with. And the great thing is, you don't have to drive a long way in the evening for a suitable campsite, because they are also available here.

Action and entertainment in the Amsterdamse Bos

A stone's throw from our showroom you will find the Amsterdamse Bos, a more than 900 hectare recreation and nature reserve with many opportunities to be active outside. For example, you can pedal boat, canoe, climb at a climbing park Fun Forest, visiting Goat farm Ridammerhoeve or watch one of the many rowing competitions at the Bosbaan, something the Amsterdamse Bos is (inter) nationally known for. Do you feel hungry for all that effort? Then go for a delicious pancake Meerzicht farm.

End the evening at the Forest theater, where various (evening) performances can be seen in the open air theater in the summer. Special music, theater or youth performances with the trees as a background. At the end of the day you cycle or walk back to your camper camping The Amsterdam Forest. In the middle of nature, paved camper pitches and all with an electricity connection of 6 Amps. Other facilities are also perfectly fine.

The next day you can go to Amsterdam by public transport (bus stop for the campsite) or by bike. In just XNUMX minutes you are in the middle of the capital, where new adventures are waiting.

Cherry blossom at its best

If you want to find out more about the peace and beauty of nature, you should definitely visit the pearl of the Amsterdamse Bos: the Flower park. In October 2000, The Japan Women's Club in Amstelveen donated 400 cherry trees to the forest, on the occasion of the 400 years of relations between Japan and the Netherlands. During the approximately 2-week flowering of the Japanese cherry (usually around the beginning of April) the Blossom Park is at its best and the 'Hanami Matsuri' party takes place. The Japanese celebrate that spring has started and have a picnic under the trees.

Water sports and history around the Westeinderplassen

De Westeinderplassen: a fantastic water sports and nature area. Also called the best kept secret in the area. With a lot of variety in natural beauty, water fun and relaxation. That means enjoying the flora and fauna, on the water and ashore. For the active visitor there are beautiful walking and cycling routes, for example the Fort cycle route along the Fire Line with a length of 24 km. Of course you can also sail, suppen or rent a boat yourself. You can really relax on the beach, from a tour boat or on one of the many terraces.

Who wants to sniff culture and history can do the characteristic Water tower attend, Horticultural Museum Historical Garden Aalsmeer, monument and eye-catcher in the center of Aalsmeer: Flour Mill De Leeuw or traditional soap making Uzepia. Soaps are made here with six different oils, with the addition of goat's milk or donkey's milk.

After an exciting day, enjoy Aalsmeer recreation park from the evening sun. Recreation Park Aalsmeer was one of the first marinas in the region and, as the name suggests, is more than just a marina. Campers may be parked in the parking lot of the park, where a table and chairs may also be placed. There are excellent sanitary facilities with showers and toilets, a launderette, a clean water tap, electricity and WiFi. The cassette toilet can possibly be emptied at the winter toilet. Only a discharge point for waste water is missing, but that should not spoil the fun.
