With a rented camper Camperhuren.nl from Aalsmeer we drove from August 15 to October 3 through Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. We picked up the camper in Aalsmeer upon arrival we first got coffee and an explanation about the camper, checked inside and out for any defects. When that was done we got the papers and the key. Then we drove home to get the camper ready for departure, to drive to Germany on Friday. We started driving at 7.30:9.30 in the morning and the next day Saturday at 4:XNUMX we were at the campsite. In one go to Prien am Chiemsee, we stayed here for XNUMX days, a cozy campsite with a good restaurant and beautiful places with all amenities.
Camping Hofbauer – total kilometers on this day: 913 km
After 5 days we left early again towards Austria to the Camping- Mondseeland, before we would go there we first went to the supermarket in this place at 1km distance from the camping. Then we drove into the mountains to register, I had also booked this well in advance.
CAMP MondSeeLand – total kilometers on this day: 95 km
A very nice campsite with a swimming pool and a very good restaurant around the corner from the campsite, and a beautiful area for walking or cycling.
See-Camping Mentl – total kilometers on this day: 226 km
After 5 days we left again for Villach - Ossiachersee to the See-Camping Mentl to stay here for 10 days in a beautiful place near the sanitary facilities. A place with all amenities. And with a lot of space. Nice at the Ossiachersee with a beautiful view and peace over the lake.
After 10 days we left again around 10.30 to drive towards Bled in Slovenia. But in between we had booked a night at the Camperplaats Mulbacherhof in Rennweg am Kalschberg near Spittal. Here we stayed 1 night with all facilities. There was also a hotel with a restaurant, you can also use the sanitary building here, especially for camper users. We also had a nice meal here in the evening, the people are very friendly and helpful.
Camper place Pension Mulhbacherhof – total kilometers on this day: 74 km
We leave now after 1 night in Austria, and we drive now Via Karawankentunnel. To the country Slovenia, to the beautiful place Bled.
Camping Sobéc – total kilometers on this day: 117 km
This is a very large campsite, and there is a lot to do; a supermarket, swimming pool and a very good restaurant. In the summer there is a lot to do such as sports and nice music evenings. The places for the campers are big enough with electricity, and the many sanitary buildings enough. We stayed here for 10 days and the weather was very good; nice and warm. We also went to the town of Bled, many tourists who came from everywhere. We did all kinds of things with a trientje around the lake of Bled with a special church in the middle of the lake. And after 9 days the weather suddenly changed to rain and it was getting really cold. That is why we decided to leave a day earlier, and gamble that we could stay a day earlier at the other campsite. Then I booked a campsite in Istria via Vacanselect, and there was still room for 7 nights with electricity and water, and close to the sanitary building and with a beautiful view over the bay.
Camping Lanterna – total kilometers on this day: 195 km
With great good cheer to the Camping Lanterna at a Bay in Istria. This is a very large camping with various shops, restaurants, sports fields and swimming possibilities and there is a train running over the camping all day. After this stay we started our return journey towards Postajna in Slovenia where the caves are. close to the camper place.
Jamska cesta 30 – total kilometers on this day: 105 km
Here you can empty the cassette toilet and waste water, and get electricity (16A) and water. And with a little train through the caves of Postojna, Slovenia. If you go on holiday to Slovenia, then of course you go to the caves of Postojna. This is not for nothing the most popular attraction of Slovenia. These caves are enormous, with more than 24 km of halls and passages.
The next day we left again towards Müreck in Austria. The weather was very good to drive, not busy on the road. On the way we stopped a few times to eat and drink something, before we knew it we arrived at the border of Austria. At the border of Austria it was not busy waiting time of about 10 minutes.
Reisemobil-Stellplatz Mureck – total kilometers on this day: 211 km
This is a very nice village to stay for a few days, we are here for the fourth time now. Quiet camper and camping with a swimming pool, there is a good restaurant at the watermill. After a few days we left again towards Germany, it is a few hours drive towards the border of Passau.
Stellplatz am Haus Anja – total kilometers on this day: 380 km
This camper place is not very special but there is a possibility to empty your toilet and water, and also fill up with fresh water. (For a small fee of about € 7,00). And you can sleep very quietly, it is right on the highway A 3 and A 92. We stayed here for one night, slept wonderfully and had breakfast. Then we drove back towards the Spreewald, this area can be compared to Giethoorn, and it is known for the well-known Pickles. We also stayed here for a few days, it was wonderfully quiet and good weather.
Spreewald-Natur-Camping – total kilometers on this day: 515 km
You can take a canoe trip here or with a guide. Also buy delicious food and souvenirs and not to forget jars with special pickles from this area. Then you can also take the bus from here to Berlin or Dresden, Cottbus and cycling in nature too.
Here we also had a few nice days, at this campsite and saw a lot of the area. Then we decided to travel further towards Helmstedt, here we looked for a camper place and this turned out to be close to the highway with all amenities. This place was nice and quiet and close to the center and 20 meters further on a very good restaurant where you can sit and eat. With all amenities for the camper. In 2024 the entire surface of the site will be asphalted and the amenities will all be renewed, for the payment machine you have to install an App (Pay Witch Charlie) on your phone to be able to pay. There you get a code for the electricity and you also have to buy the water here and that works well.
We also spent a few days here, taking nice walks in the city of Helmstedt. Coincidentally, there was also a fair and a nice centre and many beautiful buildings with a background from the past.
Schützenplatz/ Schützenhaus – total kilometers on this day: 258 km
After this visit to Helmstedt it was time to leave for another area in Germany and we drove via the motorway towards Hannover, At the exit Wunstorf we left the motorway towards Nienburg, then at the town of Delmenhorst we drove along the river Wezel to the town of Brake. Then we quickly found the camper place, luckily there was still one place free with all facilities and nice at the harbour and around the corner the centre. We then had a chat with our German neighbours. We had a drink here and prepared our own food, and then went to sleep.
Camper place: De Binnenhaven – total kilometers on this day: 268 km
This camper place was not much but we could use the facilities. After two days we went back to Amsterdam, stopped a few times on the way to eat and drink. Around noon we were in Amsterdam, camper unpacked and then cleaned to return it the next day.
In total we drove ± 3712 km on this trip. We also had a toll box for the motorway in Croatia via the ANWB so that we did not have to wait at the checkpoint. For Slovenia we had requested a digital license plate registration in advance from the company DARS for the motorway, for Austria we had bought a sticker, so we were prepared for everything. It took a bit of effort but that is the fun of preparing your holiday.
It was nice nice weather and cozy everywhere and seen a lot. And we have already booked for 5 weeks in the year 2025.
