Europa-Park hidden amusement park in Black Forest

If you say 'large amusement park in Europe', you say Disneyland Paris. But what if you want something different? A place with spectacular attractions for the whole family where you can walk around for days without doing the same thing twice. Is that there? Absolutely! In the Black Forest. There is a pearl hidden here that goes by the name Europa-Park.

Best park in the world

Europa-Park is not only Germany's largest amusement park, but also the second most visited park in Europe. The park scores an impressive 9,2 on review sites Zoover and Tripadvisor. It is not without reason that Europa-Park achieved higher marks than other parks and was even voted the best amusement park in the world (several times). The secret behind the park is in the setup. In the park, thirteen European countries have been recreated down to the smallest details. Spread over the themed areas are the more than a hundred attractions and shows, an unprecedented range on the continent.

For the whole family

Roller coaster enthusiasts can walk from one rollercoaster to the other, there are no fewer than eleven of them! But Europa-Park is more than a rollercoaster paradise. Supposedly, this is a park for the whole family. That is why the program includes a daily six-hour show, provided by 245 artists from 25 countries. You will meet these artists on the ice, in the arena, in theaters, but also on the countless streets and squares. In addition, there are no less than 47 restaurants, 63 shops and you can choose from five themed hotels for the overnight stay (s).

Europa Park Campsite

Right next to the park you will find the Europa-Park campsite, where you can bring your own camper, caravan or tent. An ideal base to recover from all the attractions and shows or to recharge for a new day. The good thing is that a reservation is not necessary (and also not possible), because when busy, the site is simply expanded. Visitors can also enter and leave the site at any time of the day (and night) on their own. You will receive a ticket at the barrier and, just like in a car park, you can pay for it at a payment machine upon departure. The day rate is € 2,50 per hour with a maximum of € 10 and the night rate is € 2,50 per hour with a maximum of € 25.

Facilities

As a camping guest you can use the modern sanitary facilities without extra payment, which are also suitable for disabled people and small children. In addition, you can use water taps and electricity poles throughout the site free of charge. There is a station where you can take fresh water and discharge dirty water and there is high-speed internet. Furthermore, there is a small lake in the area, a beach volleyball court, a children's playground, tennis courts, jogging and Nordic walking routes in the area. Also nice to go for a walk with the dog, because he can just go to the campsite. Start your day in the summer season with delicious fresh sandwiches in the kiosk with breakfast room. After a good breakfast you can hit it again. Tickets for the amusement park (1 or 2 days) are easy to buy at a vending machine at the campsite or at the main entrance of the park, of course.

Western Camp Resort

Do you want to immerse yourself completely in a cowboy atmosphere? Then choose the Western Camp Resort, complete with fully furnished and authentic log cabins, teepee tents and covered wagons, on a beautiful campsite on the water. This Resort is part of the campsite and therefore also offers the same facilities, plus a number of nice eateries.

Well worth the effort

It is only a five minute walk from the campsite before you imagine yourself in one of the thirteen perfectly recreated European countries. In fact, you can hear the park from the campsite. And especially the screams of the passengers on the highest roller coaster in the world, the Silver Star. 'Nervenkitzel' is the German word for the stomach jitters you get when you are on a roller coaster and that word could have been coined for this 73 meter high ride! In short, put Europa-Park on your list, you will not regret it. Visit the website of the park here for even more information.
