A week-long autumn break is the perfect way to get away without having to rush. There are several beautiful destinations within a few hours' drive.
Fun destinations and activities in the Netherlands
- The Veluwe! Beautiful in the fall! Take a walk through Hoge Veluwe National Park and spot wild boars and red deer. For children it is Kröller-Müller Museum Fun with lots of activities. The museum offers many fun, interactive ways to discover art.
- Drenthe! Think of dolmens, gnome paths and the Treetop trail where you literally walk between the autumn leaves. Also nice: the Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen.
- Limburg (Valkenburg area)! Beautiful hills, caves to explore and a pleasant town to stroll through. With children the funicular a visit to the Wilhelmina Tower is highly recommended.
- Zealand! Get some fresh air on the beach, fly a kite, or search for shells. Autumn is also a wonderful and often surprisingly mild time. And if not, a visit to these attractions Worth seeing: The Flood Museum, Mini Mundi (with a large indoor and outdoor playground and an amusement park with fun attractions) or the Maritime Museum Zeeland.
