Camper trip to the Black Forest

As soon as you travel to the Black Forest with the camper, it is confirmed once again that the most beautiful destinations are often just on the doorstep. This is ideal, especially in times of a pandemic (and of course beyond). The place is easily accessible by camper and you experience an ultimate camper holiday. An overwhelming nature and huge mountains ensure this.

We have a camper tour plotted that begins in the north and extends further south. The start is in Baden-Baden, after which you travel with the camper to the Black Forest and end in Freiburg im Breisgrau. The trip from north to south takes at least 6 days. If you follow the motorhome route and want to enjoy all the beauty along the way, you will also be treated to small towns, large waterfalls, deep valleys, Gothic castles, countless curves and mystical views of mountains, trees and lakes. Magnificent! let you go inspire.

1. Baden-Baden

If you go to the Black Forest by camper, it starts in the city of Baden-Baden. This historic city is roughly a 5-hour drive from our little country. At the beginning of the trip you will find out that this city is fairly large, has many spas and has a cozy center with a beautiful boulevard. In short, this can also be seen as the ideal place to stretch your legs.

2. Mummelsee

The road with the camper to the Black Forest continues to the jet-black glacial lake. And we think this is definitely worth a stop! The lake is surrounded by countless pine trees, making it easy to shoot the perfect picture. Rent a pedal boat or find a place on the terrace around the lake. Settle down for a drink with a wonderful view and really relax.

3. Freudenstadt

Continue the motorhome journey towards the elevated Freudenstadt. It is pleasant to stay here due to the high number of hours of sunshine. Look for the most beautiful museums, small shops, ham smokehouses, glass blowers and the Friedrichstrum tower. This has a beautiful view and has the largest church square in Germany. Cultural events often take place here that are certainly worth a visit.

4. Triberg

Continue the journey with the motorhome to the Black Forest to the area with the highest waterfalls in Germany. From the center of Triberg you can quickly reach the waterfalls via the hiking trail. There are enough parking spaces here to park a camper. Reach the mountain peaks with several cable cars in the area. And enjoy a breathtakingly beautiful view.

5. Titisee

Continue the motorhome holiday south. Drive the motorhome to the Black Forest along Titisee. Here you will find many swimming pools, shops, walking and cycling routes to enjoy the beautiful nature. Taking a walk is therefore highly recommended. During a hot day, take a dip in one of the hidden mountain lakes such as the Galswaldsee. Enjoy an adventure!

6. Freiburg im Breisgau

The last stop of the road trip is Freiburg im Breisgau. And this is (not for nothing) also seen as one of the nicest cities in Germany. Here you will find small half-timbered houses with historic buildings and old canals. Don't forget to visit the gothic church Freiburger Münster. This church is no less than 116 meters high. Please note: the old town is car-free (and therefore also camper-free)!
