Camper life

In this blog you will come across all kinds of terms that are associated with the life of a camper. Long live the camper life!

Camper place

Unlike a campsite, a camper site is a simple place, usually a parking lot, located in a convenient location and intended for overnight stays. There are few or no facilities and the rates for an overnight stay are usually between 0 and 15 Euro. These practical places can often be found on the edge of nice villages or towns. You also regularly see them near the beach or a point of interest. For example, there are camper pitches within walking distance of Mont Saint-Michel en motorhome parking tower of Pisa. The camper place in the parking lot on the beach of Zandvoort is ideally located for a day at the beach or to watch the sun set into the sea from your own camper.

Off grid

Some camping spots are off grid, also translated as 'off the road'. You can find these in countries such as Norway where wild camping is allowed. In Norway, wild camping is possible thanks to the right of public access 'all man's retten' in Norwegian. With our campers this is of course possible since you are self-sufficient.

stew braai

The Skottebraai is a type of barbecue, originating from South Africa. It looks a bit like a wok on legs, heated by gas. You can make different dishes with it by stir-frying, baking or grilling. You can easily unfold and fold the Skottebraai and store the pan in the accompanying bag after use. If you reserve a camper with us, you can book the Skottebraai. The Skottebraai works on gas, which is included in the delivery.

Camping behavior

This term refers to rolling out the awning, setting out camping furniture and cooking outside. This is not allowed at some camper pitches and parking lots, as it takes up too much space as a camper. Camping behavior is of course permitted in regular areas of a campsite.

ground mat

This word actually speaks for itself. It is a mat that you place in front of the camper at the campsite with the aim of ensuring a clean surface, preventing sand or mud in the camper, fun and comfort. The ground mat that we sell, is made of breathable material, so water drains easily and the grass simply receives oxygen.

Ring heating

The campers have ring heating with gas as an energy source. The heated air from the heater is distributed very quickly through the pipe system of the interior via a fan. Wonderfully comfortable at a cold time of the day!

Omni oven

This mobile oven without a heat source is also called the miracle pan. You place the pan on the gas stove of the camper. Everything you prepare in a normal oven can also be done in this handy lightweight pan. Ideal if you like delicious cooking on holiday. You can use the Book Omnia oven with your reservation.

Sideboard

On the dashboard of our campers you will find a console in which you can attach your phone or iPad. This way you can easily and safely read your route. We also offer navigation to your camper rental.

Camping tableware

Because of the feeling of comfort, you will find earthenware tableware in our campers. It is beautiful and solid and pleasant to eat and drink. You can exchange that for a fee camping tableware, which is lighter, more practical and unbreakable.

Bearlock

A Bearlock is the shortened term for a Bearlock system, a mechanical security system for the camper. It is a built-in gearbox and/or steering lock. It prevents the camper from being stolen. The name comes from the Bearlock brand with a bear as a logo. A number of our campers have such a Bearlock system.
